Israel will keep border crossings into the Gaza Strip closed to commercial and humanitarian goods "until further notice," Palestinian officials were told on Tuesday.

The Israeli defense minister ordered the borders closed late on Monday after a ceasefire-violating homemade projectile was fired from Gaza, causing no damage or injuries.

Ra'ed Fattouh, the head of the Goods Coordinating Committee in Gaza said that Israel will continue the closure.

The closure of the crossings also violates the terms of the Egyptian-brokered 19 June ceasefire agreement negotiated by Hamas and Israel.
